About Patmos

Patmos in brief.

The Church of Patmos is the Yaounde English-speaking community of the Mission of the Evangelical Church in Cameroon (MECC). The Church is located at Mvog-Betsi in Yaounde, along the Cite Verte Nkolbisson road. Patmos is pastored by Rev. Prof. Michael Bame Bame. The current Chairman of the Church of Patmos is Elder Sammy Chumfong.

Born on Sunday 4 January 1999, the Church of Patmos grew out of the persecution faced by some Christians who sought to worship God in truth and spirit.

The name PATMOS was inspired by the Book of Revelation chapter 1 verse 9: "I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ."
Like John, the holy apostle, some Christians found themselves at PATMOS simply because they had previously proclaimed God's word and testified to Christ elsewhere!
