About the Faith of Patmos.
The Faith of the Church of Patmos. The Church of
Patmos believes and confesses that:
1. God is one, eternal and self-existing in three persons (Father, Son and Holy
Spirit) who are to be equally loved, venerated, and worshipped.
2. The Bible, the divine revelation of God’s will to believers is the inspired,
inerrant Word of God, the only flawless, systematic and infallible guideline of
faith and Christian practice.
3. Jesus Christ, as revealed in the Holy Scripture and proclaimed in the power
of the Holy Spirit, is the only ground for a person's salvation and
reconcilation to God.Those sinners whom the Spirit quickens, come to believe in
Him as Saviour, are born again, become sons of God.
4. Justification is by faith and grace, a means through which the undeserving
sinner enjoys the righteousness of Christ.
5. God's salvation in the Christian’s life is portrayed in holiness, good
works, and service that glorify God.
6. Water Baptism is a sign of God's covenant and is properly administered to
adults and adolescents who trust in Christ. Patmos does not rebaptise believers
coming from other Christian denominations.
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is indispensable in the life of the believer,
who must in prayer, meditation and reverence to God seek to experience it.
8. The tidings of the Good News of God's salvation in Jesus Christ must be
spread to all and sundry as a witness before Jesus Christ returns.
9. At death the Christian's soul passes immediately into the presence of God
and the unbeliever's soul is eternally separated from God unto condemnation.
10. Jesus Christ will come back here on earth, visibly and bodily, at a time
known only to God Himself, to finalise history and the divine plan of God.
